50 years of community and nature: Hainfelder PWV celebrates anniversary!
The local group Hainfeld of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV) celebrates a remarkable anniversary: founded on January 13, 1975, the group looks back on 50 years of community and nature closeness. The founding members comprised 37 people, including names, such as Philippine Lergenmüller and Elisabeth Henrich. The responsibility of the association is now in the hands of Simone Graeber, Bernd Rheinwalt, Winfried Kirchmer and Dieter Walter, who live and promote the traditions and values of the group every day. According to the Rheinpfalz, the local group reports on its commitment to nature and the community in the region.
The Hainfeld group is one of the younger members of the main club and currently has 240 active members that consist of women, men, adolescents and children. The last two years have been particularly successful for the group because they were able to welcome 80 new members, mainly young families. Monthly hikes and an active club life promote the community spirit and the connection to nature.
activities and commitment
Traditionally, the group regularly organizes joint hikes. A special highlight is the family weekend, which has been taking place in a youth hostel for over 20 years. This year over 70 members took part in the event and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities. These initiatives are in accordance with the increasing environmental awareness and commitment to young people for nature, as is shown in current studies. The PWV promotes the active participation of its members, in particular through events that strengthen family cohesion.
In addition, the local group has implemented numerous projects to improve the habitat in Hainfeld. For example, seating groups and benches were designed and set up. A boules place that was set up at the municipality's house ten years ago is enjoying growing popularity, and the oldest Bouler is an impressive 84 years old.
special anniversary celebration
The anniversary celebration will take place on May 24th from 2 p.m. in front of the community's house, where delicious food and drink are waiting for the guests. This event should not only appreciate the 50-year history of the group, but also to draw a look into the future of the local group, which continues to pursue the goal of promoting nature and community engagement. Bernd Rheinwalt, the last of the founding fathers, is still actively involved in the club, as well as Dieter Walter, who has long driven the office of 1st chairman and follows successor projects.
The support of nature and the community is crucial for positive development, especially for young people, such as the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Security emphasized in its studies. These findings underline the relevance of the engagement of the Hainfeld group, which is not only committed to its own history, but also in the future of closeness to nature in the region. Further information about the activities and projects of the PWV can be found on your Website that is currently being revised.
