From May 1, 2025, the new season for the Bimmelbahn, tourists and locals from the city center begins in Höxter directly to Corvey and back. Like HOEXTER.de Starts at the Marktstrasse/corner of Westerbachstrasse and runs picturesque along the Weser. This electric driveway is in use on all weekends and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers a simple journey that takes about half an hour. The ticket prices are family -friendly. Adults pay 10 euros for a tour of 6.5 km, children only 5 euros. A simple journey costs 6 euros for adults and 3 euros for children. Dog friends can also take their four -legged friends with them.
The Archeology Park in Corvey will open its gates on the same day, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are exciting innovations here, including rental tablets for augmented reality representations, informative tours and telescopes on the Weideninsel. In addition, a live excavation under the direction of archaeologist Ralf Mahytka is offered. Admission to the park costs 3 euros for adults, while children are allowed in free of charge.
Diverse activities in the Huxarium Gartenpark
Another Highlight are the "flower in the Huxarium Gartenpark", which take place on May 17th and 18th. This event emphasizes the variety of domestic wild trees and offers interesting insights into the world of bees and specialist knowledge about nature -related gardening. There are also creative courses and a flower quiz for children. Entry to these plant days is also 3 euros for adults, while children have free access. Season ticket holders can participate free of charge.
The Huxarium Gartenpark offers numerous activities for families with children. Particularly noteworthy are the three extraordinary playgrounds: the Wall playground, shaped by fairy tale and medieval themes, invites you to an adventure, while the Weserbogen playground invites children to climb and slide on the grounds of a former sawmill. The Weserscholle playground inspires with an oversized marble run and offers the opportunity to snack on berries. A special highlight is that children can dig out the operating cutlery of the famous surgeon from the Weser in the Archaeology Park.
Cultural offer: The Battle of Brunsberg
In addition to the leisure activities, the exhibition "The Battle of Brunsberg - Aufbruch in a New Time" in the Historical City Hall Höxter will be shown from May 10 to October 19, 2025. As part of the anniversary "1250 Years of Westphalia", the theme of Charlemagne and his warriors on the battlefield on the Weserufer near Höxter-Godelheim is highlighted. The exhibition offers museum educational actions and interactive elements, especially for children. Among other things, digital experience elements with VR glasses are intended that enable an exciting journey through time. Handicrafts, such as the design of wooden shields and glass pearl chains from Fimo, round off the offer.Families and groups, including school classes, are welcome to visit the exhibition. However, interested parties have to register by email in advance.
