Detective Napp chases climate drivers: Mainz becomes a thriller!

On December 29, 2024, a reading will take place in the Ginsheim anglerheim, which is about the new novel by the author Dieter Schmidt. The title of the book is "the normal beats back" and forms the 14th volume with the Mainz private investigator Karl Napp. The plot of the book includes the kidnapping of a young climate adhesive named Lisa, which is known in Mainz as the "saint of the last generation".

lisa was kidnapped by an underground movement called "the normal", which consists of annoyed Mainz. Their goal is to give the so -called "stupid" lessons a lesson. As a ransom, they demand eleven box beer for the release of Lisa, but so far nobody seems to be ready to meet this demand. The reading will start on Wednesday, January 8th, at 6.30 p.m. and admission is 8 euros.

changes in the last generation

While preparations for the reading concentrate in Ginsheim, there are remarkable developments in the “Last generation” group. The activists have announced that they change their names and distance themselves from their previous actions. Spokeswoman Carla Hinrichs explained that they have no more than the "last generation" because they are unsure whether they are facing decisive climate sequences.

Blocking cars, airports and streets is no longer one of the focus of the group. Instead, she plans new actions, but the details of which are still open. The aim of the organization is to mobilize many people in critical moments to stand up for a peaceful, democratic system. These changes are made in the context of numerous criminal proceedings against members of the group, which were initiated, among other things, for street blocks and color attacks. In Berlin alone, 4844 procedures were opened against the activists, 215 of whom are still open, while 243 convictions are final.

The last generation emerged in 2022 after a hunger for climate in Berlin and criticized the inadequate climate protection measures of the federal government. However, the group's radical promotions led to a decline in public acceptance and possibly also to a decline in donations, such as reported.

This dynamic environment shows that both literature and social movements in the climate discourse play an important role and open up new perspectives.
