Unique football dreams: SOS Children's Village Children in the Borussia Park!

Last Saturday, 25 children and accompanying persons from the SOS Children's Village Niederrhein experienced an unforgettable football afternoon in the Borussia Park in Mönchengladbach. A highlight of the day was the entrance to the children with the professionals of the club. The campaign was made possible by Borussia's sustainability partner Sonepar Germany and presented a special experience for the participants.

The group consisted of 12 inlet children, 10 from the Kleve-Materborn children's village and 2 from the open all-day school (OGS) at the support center. They were accompanied by 13 accompanying persons, including 2 divisions. The journey to Mönchengladbach took place in three minibuses, whereby the children were particularly excited to meet the team's players and coaches.

unique impressions in the stadium

The anticipation of the children was great when the player bus drove only two meters past them. The interaction with the players, the coach and the team manager was particularly exciting for them. After changing in the cabins, the children had the opportunity to take a seat on the coaching bench and were welcomed by Borussia Mönchengladbach's mascot "Jünter" and by television moderators.

at 3:15 p.m. there was the possibility to walk hand in hand with the professionals and the referee team onto the field, accompanied by the Gladbach anthem and happy fishing channels. The children showed great enthusiasm during the breaks; They expressed numerous questions about the size of the stadium and were particularly pleased about the goal of a player in the match against TSG Hoffenheim. The game ended with an exciting 4: 4 draw, with national player Tim Kleindienst achieved equalization in added time.

Joint experience and return to the children's village

In addition to the exciting course of the game, the children also enjoyed half -time catering with Fanta and Bratwurst, which was another highlight for many of them. The group experienced a real change of feelings that ended with the return to the children's village at 8 p.m. Everyone agreed that this day had unique and formative influence on their enthusiasm for football.

In another exciting event, children from Hilgert traveled to Mönchengladbach with their parents and their coaching team on March 4. They were invited to be part of the game against FC Schalke 04. After a long outward journey due to traffic jams, they arrived on time at the stadium, where they were welcomed and led by the cabins.

The Hilgerter children had the opportunity to exchange gifts with the U9 team from Mönchengladbach and prepare for playing with the professionals. They not only experienced the atmosphere of a Bundesliga game, but were also allowed to play their own game against the U9 of the association, even if they lost it. Nevertheless, the day was an unforgettable experience for all participants.

These actions and the support of clubs such as Borussia Mönchengladbach not only promote team spirit among children, but also make a sign of inclusion in sports, as can be seen from the "Football Freunde Cups" that take place nationwide. These tournaments testify to the successful integration and offer children and adolescents, regardless of their prerequisites, the opportunity to experience the movement together.
