On May 1, 2025, there will be extensive road closures in Hirschberg, which could significantly influence the traffic situation in the region. According to a communication by the Hirschberg municipal administration, several streets are blocked to carry out the necessary maintenance work. These measures are essential to ensure traffic safety and improve the quality of the infrastructure. The main traffic in particular should be closed to through traffic during this time.

The closures are expected to start early in the morning of May 1st and last until late in the evening. Affected residents and drivers are invited to find out more about alternative routes and possible detours in advance. In its announcement, the municipality asked for understanding for the inconveniences that arise from this necessary work.

background to data protection and advertising

The Belgian data protection authority had previously imposed measures and fines of IAB due to violations of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). A central element of this decision is the need to obtain the consent of users: to obtain the consent of the user: inside for data processing. The data collected can include information about the location, age, search process or purchases.

Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR defines personal data as information that relates to identified or identifiable people. The ECJ decided that the TC-String, which is the preferences of the users: encodes and stores inside, is considered a personal date. In this context, the IAB is regarded as a jointly responsible person, since it has an impact on the processing of personal data.

In summary, it can be seen that both the infrastructural changes in Hirschberg and the current developments in the data protection area are important topics that affect the public. While the municipality is working on improving traffic conditions, the EU is working on a clearer regulation for handling data for advertising purposes. These topics show how important it is to make responsible decisions on both local and international level in order to meet the needs of the population.
