Torch tour in the Grubenfeld: Spring experience for the whole family!

On March 15, 2025, the Adventure worlds Grubenfeld At the beginning of spring, at the beginning of spring with a facetive program, which has a lot to offer for visitors of all ages. Here you can explore Germany's largest winter quarters for bats - one aspect that underlines the importance of the area. Before the hike begins, torches are spent on the visitors, and at the end they can relax with a cozy end with punch or tea. The torchlight guide extends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs four euros per person. The history of the worlds of experience

The Adventure worlds Grubenfeld are on the edge of the Mayener Grubenfeld, one of the oldest mining landscapes in Germany. Mining in the Osteifel began more than 7,000 years ago when valuable stones from lava flows were obtained. The exhibition "Stone Terics" addresses the long history of the stone harvest and the associated changes in the landscape over the centuries.

Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to experience the feeling of a stone worker by exploring different jobs and a workshop that illustrate the workflows in the quarry. The topics include cultural developments, need for survival in the Stone Age as well as the requirements for stone needs in the Roman Empire and the imperial era. A particularly impressive part of the exhibition is a film that illuminates the volcanic legacy and its use by humans for several millennia

The Mayener Grubenfeld also represents an important nature reserve and is the home of many bats. These are particularly and strictly protected in Germany. Threats such as habitat destruction, loss of neighborhood and insect decline are present challenges for your population. As part of the BATLAS project, a digital platform for recording and evaluating long -term data is developed via bats in order to monitor nationwide population trends and act in good time in the event of negative developments.
