Vehicle fire in the truck parking lot: Fire brigade fights against flames in Saarland!
On Friday evening, January 4, 2025, there was a devastating vehicle fire in a truck car park in Fraulautern, Saarlouis district. At around 9 p.m. the Saarlouis fire department was alerted and mobilized the Eastern fire department with a total of 35 emergency services and several vehicles.
When the fire brigade arrived, the vehicle, a gas drive pick-up, was already on fire. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the total burnout of the vehicle could not be prevented. A squad took over the fire fighting under respiratory protection, while another squad checked the Situation with a multi -gas measuring device to check potential dangers from the gas. The police were also on site and initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire, as the Saarbrücker Zeitung reported.
Further missions by the fire brigade
While the Feilautern fire brigade had to deal with the fire, the Vösendorf volunteer fire brigade was alerted on two further missions on the same Monday. The first assignment concerned an accident on the S1 in the direction of Vösendorf in the Hennersdorf tunnel, in which five trucks were involved. This incident, which took place shortly after 10 a.m., led to the alarm due to "human rescue". Fortunately, all truck drivers were able to leave their vehicles independently, except for one who was taken to the hospital as a precaution. However, four of the trucks were no longer ready to drive and were removed from the road and were parked secured. The tunnel was released for traffic after over three hours. In addition, the fire brigade was alerted for a second assignment due to smoke on a panel van, which could be ended quickly, as the Vösendorf volunteer.
