FCK fans celebrate disappointed cup defeat with pride and passion!
The 1st FC Kaiserslautern had an eventful season in 2024, shaped by exciting encounters and challenges. On April 2, 2024, the FCK competed against 1. FC Saarbrücken in the DFB Cup semi-final. The game took place in the Ludwigsparkstadion in Saarbrücken, about 60 kilometers from Kaiserslautern. The atmosphere in Kaiserslautern was nevertheless unique because around 17,000 people watched the game on large screens in the Fritz-Walter Stadium.
The FCK was able to prevail in this important game and won against 1. FC Saarbrücken. This result gave the club the opportunity to win the DFB Cup, while at the same time fighting relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga in everyday league life. The semi-final parts of the DFB Cup, including the game of 1. FC Kaiserslautern against 1. FC Saarbrücken, were scheduled for February 15, 2024 for April 2, 2024. The semi -finals were broadcast live in the first and in stream at Sportschau.de, while the second semi -finals between Bayer Leverkusen and Fortuna Düsseldorf took place on April 3, 2024.
