Funding for regional projects: This is how clubs and citizens benefit!

On April 11, 2025, the Ile Abens interest group provided a total of 40,000 euros as part of the 2025 regional budget. These funding are distributed to various small projects, which are supported by the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Tourism as well as the Office for Rural Development (Ale) Lower Bavaria. Representatives of Ile Abens signed the contracts with the selected applicants in the Neustädter town hall.

The decision -making committee of the Ile Abens had already met in mid -March to advise on the submitted funding applications. A total of thirteen project sponsors receive financial support. Thomas Memmel, the first chairman of the Ile Abens and at the same time mayor of Neustadt an der Donau, notes that this form of direct funding is a rarity.

The funded projects aim to increase the quality of life in the region and to offer the citizens on site a direct benefit. The excellent projects include:

  • Abensberg:
    • Stopsselclub Abensberg: Buying a gastro gas grill.
    • One Power Fitness GmbH: Establishment of an order and check-in terminal for digital fitness service.
    • KDFB Sandharlanden: New seating and storage options for educational events.
    • DLRG local association Abensberg: purchase of a digital flipcharts/whiteboards for training and further education.
  • Biburg:
    • OGV Biburg: Construction of hedgehogs as a children's action.
    • Volunteer fire brigade Biburg: New charcoal grill for public events.
    • Parents' Advisory Board of the Biburg daycare center: Photo equipment for the documentation of everyday life and events.
  • Neustadt:
    • TSV Neustadt: folding pavilion for protection at tournaments.
    • SV Schwaig: New chairs and tables for the terrace on the soccer field.
    • TSV Bad Gögging: upgrading the club home terrace with three parasols.
  • Siegenburg:
    • United fire and room shooting company Siegenburg: Electric lawn tractor for bow and outdoor facilities.
    • FFW Siegenburg e.V.: Seating sets for children's and youth fire brigade events.
  • ile abens overarching small project:
    • Abensberger Tafel e.V.: Acquisition of a cooling cell for the output point in Neustadt a.d.Donau, the needy residents in Abensberg, Neustadt, Siegenburg, Biburg and the surrounding area.

Important information for interested applicants

The Ile Abens has also announced that funding inquiries for small projects can now be submitted. This initiative aims to secure and develop rural areas. Applications have to refer to the city of Abensberg, the city of Neustadt an der Donau, the municipality of Biburg or the Siegenburg market.

The costs of the projects must be between 500 and 20,000 euros net, whereby up to 80 % of the net expenditure can be provided as a grant, but a maximum of 10,000 euros. The deadline for submitting the funding inquiries ends on January 31, 2025. All applications are checked for funding requirements and the assessment determines the order of the supported projects, depending on the available regional budget and the approval by the Office for Rural Development in Lower Bavaria.
