Spring cleaning in Metzkausen: Together for more cleanliness!

On Saturday, March 22nd, the Metzkausen Citizens' Association invites all citizens to joint spring cleaning as part of the dirty path days. The campaign starts at 2 p.m. and is intended to serve the environment of garbage. Volunteers are asked to actively participate in the waste disposal on road ranks and green areas. Gregor Neumann, the 1st Chairman of the Citizens' Association, emphasizes the positive experiences that have arisen from common clean -up campaigns in which families, especially children and parents, work together.

The city provides extensive equipment. Gloves, pliers and garbage bags are provided free of charge. These materials are distributed on site at the meeting point so that the helpers are well equipped. The clean -up campaigns are planned at various locations in Metzkausen, including Ratinger Straße, the L239, Hasseler Straße and the sports center on the Pfennig.

Spring cleaning is under the motto "Together for more cleanliness!" carried out and officially runs from March 22nd to May 3. Interested parties were able to register until March 14th. However, spontaneous cleaning actions are possible at any time. If you want to join at short notice, you can come to the parking lot at the sports center on the Pfennig at 2 p.m. For those who want to work independently or at a different time, however, a brief consultation with the municipal construction depot is required to observe legal requirements and ensure security.

Incidentally, a look at Ahrweiler shows that the dirty path day is organized there from February 1 to April 30, 2020. This initiative encourages municipalities, associations and citizens to free the landscape of waste. However, certain requirements must be observed before the breeding season of the birds. Free materials such as gloves and garbage bags are also provided here to support the volunteers.

The first spring cleaning in Metzkausen is not only an opportunity to beautify its surroundings, but also an important event that promotes community and environmental awareness. Contact with neighborly organizations is also stimulated to pull together and to respect and protect nature.
