Giovanni Giorgio, better known as Giorgio Moroder, celebrates his 85th birthday today. Born in the Ladin municipality of St. Ulrich in South Tyrol, he grew up in three languages and has lived in Los Angeles for 45 years.
Originally, Moroder wanted to become a ski instructor, but decided to have a career in music. In 1967 he celebrated his first great success in Germany with the song "Looky Looky". With the founding of his “Musicland” studio in Munich, the great career began, which finally made him co-founder of the modern disco sound.
