kicker in focus: Borussia Dortmunds U19
In parallel to the preparations for the SoccerCup, the U19 team of Borussia Dortmund is currently facing a challenge. The team missed the round of 16 in the UEFA Youth League and had to give up 0-2 against Real Madrid. Despite a committed appearance, the offensive could not convince. Coach Mike Tullberg was satisfied with the first half, but called for more courage to play. Dortmund's defense performance, led by players like Elias Benkara and Jonas Feddersen, held the Madrid attacks well in chess. Dortmund increased the pace in the second half, but could not score goals. The second goal of the Spaniards fell through de Llanos, which was cleverly pushed off by Luca Reggiani. After this defeat, the U19 from Dortmund will now concentrate on the DFB youth league. The next games are against Union Berlin and FSV Mainz 05. The team hopes to learn from this experience and improve in the upcoming games.
Overall, it can be seen that both local sporting events such as the SoccerCup and competitions at the highest level are decisive elements for the promotion and development of young athletes. The combination of practical participation and the learning of teamwork ensures that the youth can develop both sporty and personally.
