The Systems Engineering course is also very well received, where 29 new students start in Wetzlar. Furthermore, 12 students in the technical sales course begin in the city and 18 participants in the location-independent master's degree in Future Skills and Innovation.

the greeting of the new students

When greeting the new students, Prof. Dr. Jens Minnert, the senior director of the Scientific Center Dual University Studies (ZDH), his optimism about the choice of study of the new students. Christian Schreier, managing director of the CompetenceCenter, encouraged the new master students to actively develop their change skills and to meet challenges with confidence.

Most of the new students have completed their bachelor's degree either dual when studying or classically at the THM. Some also come from other universities in Germany, such as Fulda, Siegen, Aschaffenburg or Erlangen-Nuremberg. This variety of educational backgrounds promotes an interdisciplinary exchange that is of great importance for dual studies.

The study model

The dual Master’s program is characterized by a structured study model that runs over three semesters. In the first two semesters, the focus is on theory lessons, with a subsequent phase to create the master thesis. The lessons are carried out in the form of block models, in which the students have presence at the THM about every second calendar week on 2-3 days.

  • Study structure:
  • 2 semester theory studies
  • 1 semester Master thesis
  • First project phase parallel to the first semester
  • Second project phase over the entire second and third semester
In addition, the students acquire valuable practical experience through project work in their partner companies during their time at the university. This combination of theory and practice enables students to optimally adapt their knowledge to the requirements of the labor market.

Studiumplus has established itself as the largest provider of dual courses in Hesse, with more than 1860 students and over 1000 partner companies. The headquarters are located in Wetzlar, supplemented by branch offices in Bad Hersfeld, Bad Vilbel, Bad Wildungen, Biedenkopf, Frankenberg and Limburg.

With this first -class training option and strong networking to the economy, study plus is well positioned in order to gain even more students in the future for the challenges and opportunities of a dual degree. The program not only offers an academic conclusion, but also practical knowledge that is required in today's professional world.
