Spring offers 2025: Courses for creative minds and language lovers!
On March 19, 2025, the Volkshochschule Darmstadt-Dieburg announces an extensive course program for spring that offers a variety of learning opportunities for the citizens: inside of the region. The offers are aimed at both beginners and advanced and blankets a wide range of topics.
Special highlights of the program are a photo excursion around the picturesque Heiligenberg Castle on May 17, which not only promotes love for photography, but also brings out the beautiful landscape. In addition, a beauty workshop entitled "Make-up 50+" on April 5 in Alsbach-Hähnlein is offered, which is specifically aimed at the needs of older participants: inside.
Course offer for all age groups
The adult education center also offers refresher courses in English and French, which will take place on April 23 and on April 28 in Griesheim. Particular attention is paid to the elderly, for whom memory training is planned in Alsbach-Hähnlein from April 22. Furthermore, a conversation course for German learners will be offered in Dieburg from May 6th, whereby a level of at least A2 is required.
The language courses also include intensive offers: an “English for the profession A2/B1” course starts on May 12th and is recognized as an educational leave. Another week course "English for the B1" is offered on June 23, also as a educational leave.
For creative minds there is a “writing workshop: I write my book”, which will take place online from March 30th. This is supplemented by a course "Glimmer: Writing - Small Moments of Joy", which will be offered online from April 12th to promote writing. Other offers include cooking courses, salsa workshops and day seminars on specific topics.
Special offers for seniors
The Academy for Elder e.V. in Heidelberg and similar institutions specialize in the further training of people from 60. The offers range from health courses to IT training and include cultural education trips. In cooperation with different providers, the Volkshochschule Wiesbaden also offers targeted programs for seniors that include topics such as visual arts and photography.
The handling of digital media is also very well received by the older participants: inside. Offers such as the Internet café and computer clubs for seniors actively promote digital learning. Projects such as Sen4C aim to bring older people closer to access to the circular economy.
Registration for the courses of the adult education center is usually required to ten days before the start of the course, for educational holidays up to four weeks.
