Clean Eberstadt: This is how our district becomes green and worth living!

The own company for municipal tasks and services of the science city of Darmstadt (EAD) will carry out the “Clean -like Eberstadt” campaign from March 15 to 2225. This project is intended to strengthen awareness of sustainability and environmental protection among the population and motivate citizens to actively participate in the district. City treasurer André Schellenberg emphasizes the importance of these actions and encourages citizens to participate.

The action week begins on Saturday, March 15, with a Repair Café that takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Werkhof Darmstadt in Border Allee 10. Here, EAD employees will provide information about recycling, special waste and recycling. On site, visitors have the opportunity to book pick -up dates for electronic waste and bulky waste, which encourages citizens to dispose of excess objects sustainably.

On Monday, March 17th, the EAD organizes the third circular day, where bulky waste, furniture and electrical appliances are collected free of charge. From Sunday, March 16, from 6 p.m., citizens can store their bulky waste and electronic waste at various locations, including Brunnenweg, Fritz-Dächert-Weg, Nussbaumallee, Palisadenstrasse and in the church fir. For particularly bulky objects, free pick-up dates via the service hotline (phone 06151 13-46000) are possible.

The traditional waste collection campaign of the EAD takes place on Saturday, March 22nd. Volunteers will meet at 10 a.m. at the Caritas Center Eberstadt South, Kirnberger Straße 13. The EAD provides the participants pliers, gloves, warning vests and garbage bags to ensure a safe and effective implementation of the action.

In addition to the "clean-like Eberstadt" campaign, the EAD organized the 23rd Environmental and Family Day on September 18, 2021. This event included information about the EAD training occupations, tours in the Vivarium Zoo and numerous other activities at ten different locations in the urban area. For the environmental and family day, free bus connections between the stations were set up every half hour. Visitors were also able to take part in a competition by collecting stamps at various information stands. Hygiene regulations and distance rules have always been taken into account in order to ensure the safety of the participants.
