EFC Dom-Adler Fulda-West donates 5,000 euros for children in Eswatini!
On March 3, 2025, the EFC "Dom-Adler" Fulda-West received support of 5,000 euros from Indeed in order to advance an important social project. This initiative was launched on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Eintracht Frankfurt. As part of this campaign, a total of 13 official Eintracht fan clubs (EFCS) are funded, whereby the focus is particularly on the project idea of the EFC "Dom-Adler": the support of the Thomas Engel Foundation in Eswatini.
The raised funds are intended to build another base for children in Eswatini. H.-J. Tritschler, the 1st EFC chair, expressed his joy about the financial support and emphasized the importance of the project. Eswatini has about 1.2 million inhabitants, two thirds of whom live below the poverty line. These circumstances make it difficult not only to the life of the population, but also the successful implementation of social projects that are urgently necessary.
support for children in Eswatini
The Thomas Engel Foundation already operates 104 Neighborhood Care Points (NCP) in Eswatini. There are around 3,200 children with important resources such as meals, preschool lessons and basic medical care. However, three of the NCPs currently offer their support outdoors because there are no suitable buildings. To implement another location, around 12,000 euros are still missing. The 5,000 euros from Indeed should create the basis for the construction of a new building.
for the foundation, which works together with the Möwenweg Foundation and Kindenothilfe e.V., the local support plays a crucial role. Numerous programs are carried out to improve the living conditions of the children. This includes not only the provision of food, but also the implementation of vaccinations and tests on HIV. According to Unaids, around 240,000 people with HIV are infected in Eswatini, which corresponds to about 20 percent of the population.
In the NCPS, children receive a warm meal per day, as far as possible, which mostly consists of corn flour, beans and rice. While foods are often made available by the United Nations World Food Program, LITSEMBA aid organizations are particularly active to support the children. In addition to basic care, the project also includes educational offers and initiatives for generating income in order to create sustainable solutions for the families concerned.future prospects and hopes
The Thomas Engel Foundation plans to start the project soon. Cashier Michael Kohn and board member Ernst Engel have designed the project and are optimistic to win further supporters. With the planned measures and the commitment of the EFCS at the 125th anniversary of Eintracht Frankfurt, new perspectives for the children in Eswatini are created.
Overall, the initiative of the EFC "Dom-Adler" Fulda-West shows how important the support of social projects is and what difference it can make in the life of people. The hope of further financial resources remains to sustainably improve the children's life situation in Eswatini. The challenges remain great, but through internationally networked help, the Thomas Engel Foundation can continue to make its important contribution to combating poverty and improving living conditions in the region.
