Eintracht Trier celebrates for 120 years with a gripping draw against FSV!

On March 11, 2025, SV Eintracht Trier celebrated an important anniversary: the foundation of the association was for the 120th time. This was honored with a number of celebrations in the city and during the game against FSV Frankfurt. Already at the away game in Offenbach, the fans showed an impressive choreography that marked the beginning of the celebrations. But the home game in the Moselle Stadium, where approx. 4,113 spectators were present, offered the platform for the main celebrations.

The fan scene gathered at 11 a.m. on the Porta Nigra, where about 300 trailers marched towards the Moselle Stadium with a large "120 Jaor" flag. Before the game kick -off, the fan scene presented an impressive birthday shoreo on the entire back straight. This consisted of advertising gangs and roof overhangs, decorated with the lettering "120 Jaor" and "then - today - forever". Historical logos and the current club logo were also pulled up to represent the long roots of the association.

The game and the protest actions

The game itself ended with an exciting 3: 3 draw. Eintracht Trier started strongly and took the lead 2-0 through goals from Mateo Biondic in the 28th minute and Robin Garnier in the 35th minute. FSV Frankfurt, under the direction of coach Tim Görner, had started without the sick Tim Weißmann. Before half-time, Sho Sannomiya scored the first goal for Frankfurt, so that the team went into the break with a 1-2 deficit.

In the second half, FSV Frankfurt initially achieved the equalization by George Iorga in the final phase and even took the lead 3-2 in the 89th minute. The late compensation by Hokon Sossah in added time, however, secured Eintracht Trier one point. The game was also shaped by protest actions because the fans of FSV Frankfurt boycotted the first 19 minutes. The reason for this was the takeover of 10% of the shares in FSV Frankfurt 1899 Fußball GmbH by the President and Managing Director, which was perceived as a negative sign.

During the boycott, the fans showed a saying band with the inscription "Stop Sba", while they gathered behind a "nobody stands above the club" flag. Despite these protests, the supporters of FSV Frankfurt managed to get any hearing due to the numerical superiority of the Trier fans. Both fan camp took part in protests against association penalties with a common saying band campaign.

the look ahead

for FSV Frankfurt, which is in second place with three points behind the second representative from Hoffenheim, the next game against the Stuttgart Kickers will take place on March 30th in the PSD Bank Arena. The exciting encounter against Eintracht Trier will surely be remembered for a long time - not only because of the game, but also because of the lively fan actions that underlined the special occasion.
