Large drug raid in Hesse: Million ensured!
On April 25, 2025, the Hessen police report on extensive operation against drug trafficking in the region. Around 350 kg marijuana and over 200 kg amphetamine were secured for search measures that took place on April 23 and 24 in Frankfurt am Main as well as in the districts of Groß-Gerau, Main-Kinzig and Rheingau-Taunus. In addition, the investigators, 186 liters of codeine and other narcotics in the single -digit kilo sector were able to confiscate. The estimated road trading values of the seized drugs amount to at least five million euros.
A total of three suspects aged 22 to 29 were arrested. They are accused of unauthorized gang -like trading with non -small amounts of narcotics. The investigation had originally been initiated due to suspicious findings in front of an empty house. The officials identified four camouflaged bunkers in which illegal noise, money counting machines and counterfeiting were stored.
extensive investigation and police operation
The operations carried out were supported by several units of the Hessian police and customs, including special forces. Upon request, the Wiesbaden public prosecutor's office ordered the pre -trial detention for the three arrested. The further investigations are carried out by the common investigation group Rauschgift (ger) Hessen and the Wiesbaden public prosecutor, which has been acting against drug crime at regional and national level since its foundation in 2012.
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) sees the combating of internationally organized drug crime one of its central tasks. Organized crime benefits massively from the illegal profits from the drug trade. In the crimes committed, not only laws against the Narcotics Act are often violated, but also committed violent crimes that represent a significant danger to internal security in Germany, the EU and worldwide. The supply pressure of narcotics remains high - the results of the operational measures show the extent of this problem.
drug statistics and challenges
In 2022, the German police registered 346,877 drug offenses. This represents an increase of 1.8 % compared to the previous year. Cannabis remains the most common drug with about two thirds of the offenses. In 2023, 207,563 drug offenses were recorded in connection with cannabis. The securing numbers are alarming: 20.9 tons of marijuana and 3.7 tons of hashish were secured last year alone.
The increase in drug production worldwide leads to a higher availability of drugs in Germany. This is further fueled by the illegal trading practices on the Internet that require special investigative work. The challenges in combating drug crime are great, especially by spreading new psychoactive substances, which are often marketed as "legal highs". These substances often contain forbidden ingredients and represent additional risks for public health.
Due to the multitude of drug offers and increasing consumption - 2,227 drug -related deaths were registered in 2023 - the fight against drug crime remains one of the most important tasks for the police and society as a whole. The use against this form of organized crime continues to be intensified to ensure the security of all citizens.
drug trafficking and the associated offenses are not only locally, but also part of a global problem that requires constant attention. The cooperation between different authorities is crucial to combat the illegal market and to hold the perpetrators responsible.
