Hirzenhain plans pioneering mobility station between Edeka and Rathaus!
The municipality of Hirzenhain in the Wetteraukreis is planning to build a new mobility station, which is to be between the Edeka market and the town hall. This can be seen from a report by FNP . The decision was made by the municipal council in a meeting and is part of an inter -municipal network of the project "Space for New Mobility". This should serve to create alternative mobility solutions and to relieve motorized individual traffic.
The Wetteraukreis has set itself the goal of the first district in Germany to establish a nationwide network of mobility stations. He works in cooperation with the regional association Frankfurt Rheinmain and the Rhein-Main Transport Association to improve mobility, especially in rural areas. In this context, Mayor Timo Tichai emphasizes the need for a uniform system for access, use and appearance of these stations.
planned equipment and grants
The planned mobility station in Hirzenhain will have a good connection to public transport and provide various offers. These include:
- Five bicycle loan for the storage facilities of bicycles.
- a bicycle repair station that is equipped with tools and bicycle tube machines.
- Two e-car sharing parking spaces, provided with charging stations.
- an information stele with clues to the services offered.
The estimated costs for the expansion variant are around 43,000 euros. The Wetteraukreis will provide grants of up to 15,000 euros per location, while around 46,000 euros are to be funded by the Mobility Promotion Act of the State of Hesse. The municipality's own contribution is thus calculated to around 13,000 euros.
background and other plans
The “Space for New Mobility” project not only aims to develop mobility stations in Hirzenhain. In total, a rising passenger volume of 30 % is to be achieved by 2035 to enable a mobility turn. This measure is promoted as a pilot project in the Wetteraukreis, where rural regions are often under -supplied and innovative mobility solutions are urgently needed. A large number of partners have come together for this, including the Rheinmain University of Applied Sciences.
The Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) also supports the “Landstation” measure, which aims to link mobility stations and multi -function houses in rural regions. These so-called mobility hubs bundle offers from local public transport, sharing systems and cycling and are intended to make it easier to link the different transport offers. The BMEL emphasizes the social aspect of the projects, which are also supposed to increase the standard of living in rural areas
This initiatives makes it clear that the mobility stations not only serve to make it easier for individuals to access traffic operators, but also strengthen socially spatial structures and promote future -proof mobility in the region. This could represent a model for other rural regions in Germany that have to be mastered similar challenges.
