The Hessian police attach great importance to inclusion and the employment of people with disabilities. Around 1,300 of the approximately 20,000 employees of the Hessian police are currently people with disabilities. In order to support the integration of these people, the police offer a variety of tasks and specifically promote their attitude.

The jobs are individually adapted to the needs of the employees. In addition, the 11 police authorities' representatives are available as a contact person. Support is not only offered at the beginning of the profession, but also in the entire professional life. In this context, the Hessian police are committed to improving structural accessibility and digitization with focus on accessibility. representative for people with disabilities in Hesse

Since April 15, 2024, a new representative of the Hessian state government has been in office for people with disabilities. Born on March 28, 1961 in Gießen/Lahn, he can look back on an extensive professional career. From 1997 to 2024 he worked on the Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt, where he started as a volunteer and finally worked as a planning editor at HR1. In addition, he has been active as a journalist since 1998 and planned conferences and moderated events on topics such as disabilities, inclusion, education and accessibility.

Before his professional career, he was the course manager for civil servants' seminars from 1991 to 1995 and was student from 1986 to 1990 at the Central Student Advisory Service in Frankfurt. He studied German studies, political and historical science at the universities in Frankfurt am Main and Trier.
