Max Coga: Frankfurt's local patriot is fighting for the Bahnhofsviertel!

Max Coga, a 33-year-old MMA fighter and operator of the traditional night club "Pik Dame" in the Frankfurt station district, recently drawn attention to himself in the 100th episode of the FFH cult talks "Bembel and Babbel". This anniversary sequence took place in the Palais Thurn and Taxis in front of 600 spectators. Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Jörg Dahlmann and comedian Maxi Gstettenbauer were among the guests. Coga, who already appeared in front of an impressive 60,000 spectators in Deutsche Bank Park, was announced on the talk show as a "Frankfurt local patriot", even though he was born in Offenbach and spent most of his childhood there.

his grandfather founded "Pik Dame", the oldest night club in Frankfurt, almost 64 years ago, and Coga continues this heritage in the third generation. He is not only a successful nightclub operator, but also an eleven MMA champion. A remarkable achievement was his victory in October 2024 in Deutsche Bank Park, in which he competed despite a broken hand. Coga fought in the USA and Russia and was accompanied by ZDF in a report in 2024.

social challenges in the Bahnhofsviertel

The station district, where the "Pik Dame" is based, has changed in recent years. A few years ago, the district of "Time Magazine" was recommended as a hip goal, but Coga remembers a time when creative people and artists were put on. However, this development was affected by the 2015 refugee problem and a subsequent increase in drug crime and small gangs during and after pandemic.

Coga is part of the prevention council, which discusses strategies to improve the situation in the station district. He expresses concern about the growth of drug crime and its negative effects on the quality of life in the district. At the same time, he notices that more people are traveling in the quarter than five years ago, which has both positive and negative aspects.

creativity and community in focus

In view of the challenges, Coga relies on strengthening the community. He emphasizes the need to keep rents affordable for creative people and speaks for initiatives such as the trade association and the "Auf to the district". These should help to improve the living conditions in the Bahnhofsviertel and the district for people who appreciate and understand to make attractive.

Finally, Coga is optimistic that the Bahnhofsviertel can experience a positive change. This process is supported by the working group between Frankfurt and the Deutsche Bahn who work on the implementation of a new main station.
