Night of Museums 2025: Frankfurt's cultural history awakens to life!
On April 15, 2025, the cultural metropolis of Frankfurt will once again become the stage for the diverse arts and the fascinating historical collections of the region when over 40 cultural institutions at Nacht der Museums participate. This event has now developed to a fixture in the Frankfurt Spring Culture Calendar and attracts visitors from near and far.
Participation is concentrated on well -known museums on the museum bank such as the Städel, the Museum of Communication, the DFF/Film Museum and the Museum of Applied Art. These museums open their doors until late at night and also offer programs that are linked to current exhibitions. A special highlight of that night is the intervention of Isa Genzken in the Liebighaus, which will certainly be a magnet for art lovers.

A varied supporting program is offered at the different locations. Visitors can swing their legs in the garden of the Liebighaus and in the Metzler Park at the Museum of Applied Art. There are music performances by DJ Benedikt Montiel Matthews and the Jazz Quartet Discovery Collective in the Metzlerpark. For lovers of traditional klezmer music, the Marc Crofts Klezmer Ensemble plays in the Jewish Museum.
The "Museum of Modern Electronic Music" at the main guard is used by several DJs until 2 a.m. In addition, visitors in the "Digital Retro Park" in Offenbach can play on nostalgic game consoles and cult computers. A "underground" experience awaits the participants on a tour of the fishing vaults under the old bridge.

The year 2025 promises a wealth of cultural highlights in Frankfurt. Cultural director Ina Hartwig launched the announcement of 100 years of "Neue Frankfurt", with numerous events and cooperation between the museums. Particularly noteworthy is the core exhibition "100 years of new Frankfurt", which will be opened on May 9, 2025 in the Museum of Applied Arts.
The exhibition "Movement! Frankfurt and Mobility" has been seen in the Historical Museum since November 21, 2024 and runs until September 14, 2025. Another exciting innovation will be the reopening of the German Architecture Museum at Schaumainkai in spring 2025. For visitors who want to experience the cultural diversity of Frankfurt up close, the museum bank offers an attractive option. For 89 euros, owners receive access to 39 museums for a whole year, while the museum bank ticket for 21 euros (reduced 12 euros, family ticket 32 euros) gives two days access to all museums. Children and adolescents up to the age of 18 have had free admission to the city museums since January 1, 2017.
