Pirmin Schwegler returns: Eintracht Frankfurt relies on experience!

Eintracht Frankfurt brought the former professional Pirmin Schwegler back into his ranks. The official announcement was made on Saturday, December 28, 2024. From January 1, 2025, Schwegler will be head of professional football and supports sports board member Markus Krösche and sports director Timmo Hardung.

Schwegler, who played for Eintracht from 2009 to 2014 and played a total of 141 competitive games, will take on contact with the tenders of Eintracht. He will also support the scouting and act as a link between the youth performance center and the professional team. Markus Krösche emphasizes that Schwegler can give the young players valuable impulses with his experience. He will be "close to the team" and have numerous conversations.

Before his return to Eintracht, Schwegler worked as a director of professional football at TSG Hoffenheim until September 2024. Before that, from 2020 to 2023 he worked as a scout at Bayern Munich. Schwegler played a total of 13 years in Germany and played 262 Bundesliga games for Eintracht Frankfurt, Hoffenheim, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Hannover 96. He is also a 14-time national player for Switzerland.
