Transport violations in Hesse at record high: 1.47 million ads 2024!
Traffic statistics for Hesse shows a slight increase in traffic violations for 2024. A total of around 1.47 million advertisements have been received by the central fine (ZBS) for administrative offenses, which corresponds to an increase of around 8,000 advertisements compared to the previous year. How hessenschau.de there was already a significant increase of 200,000 displayed.
President Mark Weinmeister described the year 2024 as a year with high workload for the ZBS. It is striking that 75 percent of the ads concerned speed overruns. At the same time, holding and parking violations made up about 14 percent of the total heights. The decline in serious administrative offenses, which also include significant speed overruns and alcohol or drug drives, can also be observed. These fell by 1,462 to 790.941.
changes in the fine income
Despite the increased number of traffic violations, the income from fines dropped. These were reduced from 105.74 million euros to around 103.27 million euros, which corresponds to a decline of 2.3 percent. The fine income flow into the state budget and are an important part of the financing structure.
The increase in minor violations that rose to 683.018 around 9,557 is particularly striking. These include both parking and holding violations as well as cell phone violations that are becoming increasingly important in road traffic. In the city of Frankfurt, however, there is its own fine, which is not taken into account in this balance.
fines and points for speed overrun
speed overruns usually go hand in hand with fines and points. According to ADAC , the following guidelines apply to violations:
- up to 10 km/h: 30 €, no points
- 11 - 15 km/h: 50 €, no points
- 16 - 20 km/h: 70 €, no points
- 21 - 25 km/h: 115 €, 1 point
- 26 - 30 km/h: 180 €, 1 month driving ban
- 31 - 40 km/h: 260 €, 2 months driving ban
- 41 - 50 km/h: 400 €, 2 months driving ban
- over 70 km/h: 800 €, 3 months driving ban
For outside, other fines apply, which provide for a significantly higher punishment for overrun speeds. If more than 25 km/h within one year, additional penalties must be feared.
A created fine can be contested within two weeks. However, the driver also has duties, especially when it comes to determining his person. This shows the complex structure of the German fines system, which is also documented in the driving suitability register (Faer).
statistics and abnormalities in road traffic
according to the Motorfahrt-Federal Agency was the number of registered persons in the FAER at the beginning of 2025 around November 10, 560. Information is also replaced by serious offenses such as alcohol or drug violations that play a major role in the field of traffic safety.
The most common administrative offenses affect speed overruns that take on top position in both men and women. This makes it clear that compliance with the traffic rules is still a challenge.
