fascinating facts about the Northern Lights
Northern lights, also known as the northern lights or aurora borealis, appear in a variety of colors, including green, yellow, blue and red. They are particularly visible in the polar regions from September to March, with the best travel times in the months of September, October, February and March. Interestingly, the current information enabled the ten best places to observe Northern Lights, among others, Iceland, Anchorage in Alaska and various national parks in Canada.
The Northern Lights are created by electrically charged particles of the sun that interact in the atmosphere. The colors of the lights vary depending on the chemical components of the atmosphere and its height. In Germany, up to 20 sightings of the phenomenon were registered this year, which reinforces the fascination of the Northern Lights.
For lovers of the polar light observation, it is recommended to bring suitable winter clothing, snacks and warm drinks and to pay attention to the weather forecast so as not to miss the opportunity to see this impressive natural phenomenon.
