Dr. Christian Scharf: 20 years of commitment to Caritas come to an end!
at the end of April 2025 marked a significant change in the press and public relations work of the Caritas Association for the Diocese of Fulda. Dr. Christian Scharf, who has been a speaker since October 1, 2004, retired after over two decades. Miriam Rommel takes over his position, an experienced journalist who wants to enrich the association with fresh ideas.
dr. Scharf, born in Bremerhaven in 1960, not only managed classic press work in his career, but also created important contributions for the Caritas newspaper Social Courage and Internal Publications. He was known for his reliability and wealth of ideas and was particularly committed to projects that he reported. Before his time at Caritas, he was an editor for the ecumenical magazine "The Journal for People in the Space of Churches". In addition to his professional career, Dr. Sharp since 2009 in the Ukraine aid in Iwano-Frankiwsk and was particularly committed to people with disabilities.

Miriam Rommel has a student part -time job in an editorial team that aroused her passion for journalism. Since the beginning of March 2025 she has been a consultant for press and public relations at the Caritas Association. This focuses on promoting understanding and solidarity for people in need and presenting the services of Caritas in a contemporary way. Their tasks include maintaining contact with the media and supporting the connected associations.
international perspective: Caritas projects in Uganda
In addition to the national work, Caritas is also involved internationally. Caritas recently carried out a dialogue trip to Uganda International. The aim was to inform multipliers from Caritas about the projects there.
