Fire brigade legend Klaus Hahner says goodbye with a big appearance!

On December 31, 2024, Klaus Hahner, chief fire chief of the Fulda fire brigade, ended his active service after almost three decades. The long -time firefighter drives through the city for the last time in the fire engine and says goodbye to his comrades and the population.

Klaus Hahner began his career in the 1980s in the Engelhelm volunteer fire brigade, where he later became the first chairman of the association. In 1995 he joined the Fulda fire brigade and held various positions there, including operations and camp leaders in the emergency service center. He has headed the Fulda-Mitte guard department since 2013 and was significantly involved in planning exercises to prepare for emergencies.

Change to retirement

His official active service in Fulda ends in the summer of 2025, but the New Year's Service 2024 is already marking its last use. In addition to his work in the fire brigade, Hahner is also a local mayor in Niederbieber (Hofbieber) and plans to continue to support the volunteer fire brigade in his home town with advice and action.
