Carnival in Rommerz: Fool's celebration with 8,000 visitors enthusiastic!

On March 1, 2025, the large carnival parade took place in Rommerz, a small community in Neuhof in the Fulda district. Known as a cure, this move attracts many visitors every year and is one of the largest of its kind in the region. Around 8,000 people, including both active participants and spectators, celebrated the hustle and bustle on this day.

The President of the Rommerzer Carneval Association, Steffen Heil, described the mood as terrific. For the residents of Rommerz, whose population comprises just 1,600 people, the carnival is an annual highlight around Saturday before Rosenmontag. On this day, the quiet village turns into a lively carnival stronghold.

move and celebrations

The range offers included around 50 train numbers, which included creatively designed costumes, motif cars, foot groups and music bands. Mayor Heiko Stolz and District Administrator Bernd Woide were also among the guests and heated the fools from a follower equipped with speakers and microphone. The move lasted about 90 minutes and after the end the participants continued in the streets.

The celebrations did not end with the move, because there was a party mile for everyone who hadn't had enough of the Fastnacht. The emotionally charged moments were recorded by photographer Carina Jirsch in three picture galleries.

In addition to moving to Rommerz, other carnival events also took place in the region. The Bachrain carnivalists celebrated their third night parade in Künzell. This was accompanied by hundreds of lanterns and fairy lights that illuminated the streets. After a warm-up party in a community center, the move started at 8 p.m. and led a distance of almost two kilometers.

tradition and diversity of the carnival

The carnival has different facets in Germany. He has only become popular in the past 30 years in Protestant areas, while in Catholic regions such as Rhineland, Swabia and Hesse Carnival has been an integral part of cultural life for centuries. Traditions such as the ridicule about powerful and celebrating the community can be found in the celebrations.

regional differences strongly shape the carnival. The hot phase between the women's fastnight and Rosenmontag takes, while the first events begin on January 6th. The celebrations culminated in large events such as the Cologne Rosenmontagszug, which attracts up to 1 million spectators. Creative costumes, motif cars and sweets (camels) are firmly planned.

in the municipality of Neuhof, in turn, there was a special exception in her parade, in which the prince's car of the carnival society broke through the rule of a night parade, in which no speckle cars are traditionally allowed. The move in Neuhof comprised a total of 27 train numbers, including 13 groups and the Bergmann chapel Neuhof, which once more showed the diversity and the community spirit of these festivities. DJ Lazi Bone accompanied the festive activities in the community center, whose appearance rounded off the evening.
