Strong together: develop protection concepts for children against sexual violence
On April 29, 2025, an important event took place in the Middle Hesse police headquarters under the motto "Safe for children and young people". This event was part of the campaign "#aktion Schutzschild - Prevention against sexualized violence". It was organized by the central youth coordination of the police headquarters in Middle Hesse in order to promote exchange and learning through protective measures.
At the event, which recorded a high response among the participants, Erik Hessenmüller, the head of the deployment, welcomed the attendance, and thanked the pedagogical specialists, teachers as well as daycare staff for their commitment and responsibility under the protection of children. The aim of the event was to form and strengthen networks and to expand the Hellfeld in the crime areas.
sensitization for perpetrator strategies
A central topic of the event was the deal of perpetrators and perpetrators. As the psg.nrw , 50-75% of the perpetrators come from the social near field, often even from the family. Statistics also show that 85-90% of the acts of men are committed. Perpetrators are often inconspicuous and benefits of power and authority.
It is of the greatest importance for the specialists to find out about the methods of the perpetrators, which also includes the so-called grooming process. This process includes successive manipulation of the shame sensation of children, as well as the isolation of their caregivers. In addition, perpetrators create opportunities for inappropriate contacts and use sophisticated tactics to remain undetected.
The event also dealt with the support of children in stressful situations and the creation of contact points. Information on protection concepts in daycare centers and schools were given to develop a preventive behavioral strategy.
protection concepts for educational institutions
Another important aspect was the idea of qualification and support offers from the daycare and school area. As part of the campaign, a “market of possibilities” was also organized, at which specialist agencies such as “Parents help parents”, “Gießener Help”, “Weißen Ring” and “Wildwasser Gießen e.V.” Participation. Here participants were able to find out more.
In parallel to this event, the Kultusminmintinigen Conference (KMK) has passed a guide for "child protection at school", which is intended to facilitate the development and implementation of protection concepts against sexual violence in schools. The guide offers practical materials to support schools in structuring processes and increases the security of action for teachers. The process of developing such a concept is described as a school development process and takes time, but it helps to reduce the complexity of the topic to understandable sub -areas. Further information on the guide can be found on the KMK website.
The last events of the series that continue throughout 2025 aim to consolidate the transfer of knowledge to protect children and ultimately improve the protection of young people in our companies. The last event will take place on October 23, 2025 at the police headquarters in Central Hesse.
