Construction work in Bad Hersfeld: Trains fail - important information for travelers!
From next Sunday, March 2, 2025, commuters and travelers in the region will have to adapt to significant restrictions on train traffic. This is the result of construction work on the "Peterstor" road bridge south of the train station in Bad Hersfeld. According to nvv.de , the affected regional train lines will be blocked on March 2 to 27, 2025, on a few nights.
The train failures affect several lines: the RMV-RE5/RE50, which runs from Frankfurt via Fulda to Bad Hersfeld and Bebra to Kassel, as well as the RE5 and RB5, which run between Fulda and Kassel. A rail replacement (SEV) is set up for the default trains of the RB5 and RMV-RE5/RE50, which provides buses between Bebra and Fulda. However, there is no replacement traffic for the RE5 between Bebra and Bad Hersfeld.
further restrictions in the region
The trains that should arrive creatively already end in Hofgeismar. There is a connection to SEV buses to Kassel. The RT1 regional tram line between Hofgeismar and Kassel will also be affected by the construction work. This means that further options are not available for the affected passengers, which makes the situation even more complicated.
Information for passengers
The timetable changes require conscientious planning from the passengers. Departure times sometimes shift by a few minutes, and the exact connection should be checked before departure. In addition to the rail replacement, new departure times are available in the NVV timetable information and the NVV app. For more information, the website nvv.de/bahnplanasisung, nvv.de/stoerungen and the NVV service telephone, which can be reached daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., on Fridays and Saturdays until 0 a.m.
The restrictions mentioned are a reminder to all travelers to update their travel plan accordingly and to obtain information in good time in order to avoid unnecessary waiting times and adjustments.
