Fight -wing helicopters start nightly exercises about Hesse and the surrounding area!

The Bundeswehr, more precisely the Kampfhubraupaber Regiment 36 , is planning a comprehensive practice flight over North and Middle Hesse, which begins in the first week of March. From Monday, March 3 to Thursday, March 6th, and again from Monday, March 10th to Thursday, March 13, night flights with combat helicopters of Tiger are intended. These exercises should not only ensure the operational readiness of the pilots, but also serve the further training of young soldiers.

The night flights are particularly challenging because the helicopters operate at heights of less than 100 feet, i.e. about 30 meters. This is expected to lead to an increased noise pollution in the affected regions. In Hesse, this affects the cities of Alsfeld, Marburg and Bad Hersfeld

.

affected regions and noise pollution

The practice areas not only extend over Hesse, but also over adjacent federal states. Are particularly affected:

  • Alsfeld
  • Marburg
  • Allendorf/Eder
  • Korbach
  • Bad Hersfeld
  • Warburg (North Rhine-Westphalia)
  • Göttingen (Lower Saxony)
  • Mühlhausen (Thuringia)

The Bundeswehr emphasizes that the practice areas are changed regularly in order to relieve the residents in the best possible way. Nevertheless, this shows that the citizens in these regions have to adapt to increased background noise.

The regiment has set up a citizen phone for questions or noise complaints. The free number is: 0800 - 8620730.

goals of the practice flights

The planned night flights are an essential part of military training. The Kampfhubraupwauber regiment 36 , which is part of the rapid strength division, uses these exercises to manufacture and maintain the operational readiness of the pilots. A focus is on being able to train the young generation of soldiers so that they are optimally prepared for their missions in an emergency.

In addition, the regiment is regarded as part of the NATO spearhead. This role not only brings responsibility, but also requires constant exercise in order to be able to act quickly and efficiently if necessary.

With the planned night flights, the Bundeswehr wants to demonstrate its skills, even in challenging conditions. Citizens are informed about the possible volume of noise in advance in order to create understanding for these necessary military exercises.

In summary, it can be said that the planned exercises from 3 to 6 and from March 10th to 13th are accompanied by an increased noise pollution for the region, but are essential from a military point of view to ensure that the troop is always ready for use.
