Art highlight in Bad Hersfeld: Jonas Raacke presents colorful works!

The exhibition by Jonas Raacke, which is currently on the main office of the Sparkasse Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg, is enthusiastic about impressive works of art. The show is part of the "Million Faces" series and presents the developments of the 37-year-old artist from Bad Hersfeld. The special thing about Raack's work is his creative process: the pictures were originally taken from figures that were quickly scribbled into the school issue and have developed into large -format creations. Raacke uses acrylic markers and spray cans to design the colorful compositions.

Raacke has been a member of the Bad Hersfeld Kunstverein for a year and has already participated in several exhibitions, including in the museum and the art market last summer. In addition, a presentation of his works took place on the LED wall in the "Zuse" of Friedrich Krumme. The exhibition in the Sparkasse can still be seen until May 30, 2025 during the regular opening times, which offers art lovers an excellent opportunity to discover the diverse works of the aspiring artist.

promotion of contemporary art

The promotion of contemporary art is also the central concern of the Rotenburg art association on Fulda. This will celebrate its 40th anniversary in November 2024 with the exhibition "Retrospective-40 Years of Kunstverein Rotenburg an der Fulda". Eva-Maria Schreiber, the current first chairman of the association, emphasizes the importance of support for local artists. The founding idea of the association comes from Heinz Lemke-Rossau, who died before it was founded at the age of 66

The Kunstverein has realized numerous projects and painting workshops over the years that are aimed not only at locals, but also to young artists from refugee accommodation in Germany. The association currently has 23 members between the ages of 7 and 90, including a committed children's group.

Financial support for creative projects

To support the art scene, the Kunstfonds Foundation awarded a total of 765,800 euros in 2023. These funds flowed to 59 artists, art associations, museums and galleries in Germany, which are often also dependent on external applications in order to be able to realize their projects. For example, various art associations and institutions received funding of up to 35,000 euros for their exhibitions and publications.

The jury of the foundation, which consists of experts, selected 695 applications from the projects worthy of funding. These initiatives create a fertile environment for artists and art lovers alike, which not least strengthens wealth and diversity of contemporary art landscape. It remains to be hoped that Raack and other artists can also benefit from these funding and that the art scene in the region continues to bloom.
