On April 1, 2025, the newly built Timberjacks restaurant in Bad Hersfeld will officially be handed over to the operators by the VR banking club. This handover represents a decisive milestone as part of the overall project. The restaurant, which will offer a variety of dishes such as American BBQ, Burger, Steaks and Mexican Food, is to start regular operation in May 2025. The VR Bankverein, which acquired the area in October 2020, sees the completion of the restaurant as an important step for the dynamic development of the location. In parallel to the work on the Timberjacks restaurant, the adjacent Battle-Kart-Halle is also being built, the foundations of which have already been completed and the construction of which has now started. The progress at this location is evaluated as a result of successful cooperation and the commitment of all companies involved in the project.

topping -out ceremony and construction progress

Already on September 3, 2024, the topping-out ceremony for the Timberjacks restaurant, which is located on the former Ford site. In the event of a groundbreaking, the weather set better conditions than in the groundbreaking ceremony. Around 80 invited guests celebrated the progress of the project, which includes an interior with 253 seats and an outdoor terrace for 210 guests. The building has a base area of ​​32 x 30 meters and is mainly made from natural wood tribes, which were stored in Brotterode in 2022 and pre -assembled in September 2023. These tribes to Bad Hersfeld took place in April 2024.

Mayor Anke Hofmann expressed a positive statement about the construction progress. In addition to the Timberjacks restaurant, a hall for Battlekart and a VR-Serviced Apartments Hotel with a bakery are also being built. Further projects are also being planned for the area at the city entrance.
