Hünfeld's clinic is making progress: Better supply through new surgeons

On May 9, 2025, the Helios St. Elisabeth Clinic in Hünfeld and other locations in the region took significant steps to expand their vascular surgical department. The goal is a comprehensive improvement in patient care, which is to be realized through technological and personnel increase at the Hünfeld location. This area not only experiences a refreshment, but also close cooperation between the Helios Clinics in Hünfeld, Meiningen and Bad Kissingen, which are organized as part of a new cluster.

From June 1, 2025, Claudia Holland-Jopp will take over the management of the new three-country cluster. The previous managing director, Sebastian Mock, will hand over the handover by the end of July and switch to the Hersfeld-Rotenburg Clinic on August 1, 2025. Mock is recognized for his strategic contributions to health care in East Hesse. The restructuring also includes a change in the vascular surgical team, where a new senior physician as well as the chief physician Bogdan Mircea and several doctors are deducted from the Helios Clinic Oberwald in Grebenhain to further strengthen the department in Hünfeld.

New medical specialists for Hünfeld and Grebenhain

Shota Svanidze, who has been appointed senior physician of vascular surgery at the Helios locations in Hünfeld and Grebenhain since January 15, 2025, brings extensive experience into his new role. Previously, Svanidze was the managing senior doctor of vascular surgery in the Fulda Clinic and also worked on renowned institutions such as the Kaufbeuren Clinic and the University Hospital in Würzburg. Chief physician Mircea emphasizes the human and professional suitability of Svanidzes for the team.

The treatment offer under SVANIDZE includes vein diseases, arterial vascular diseases as well as minimally invasive narrow aesthetic interventions and hybrid operations. The operations take place exclusively in the Helios St. Elisabeth Clinic Hünfeld, which has a well -equipped intensive care unit and an X -ray department with CT. The Grebenhain location will continue to offer outpatient consultation hours that are moved to Freiensteinau, while the inpatient area is not continued.

investments and innovative technologies

The clinic in Hünfeld also invests in a new angiography system to expand the infrastructure and diagnostic options. This investment is part of a greater strategy to improve supply security, которая включается в возмоности оказания неотлоension и интенсивной медицинской помощи. The close integration of diagnostics and aftercare will enable patients to be treated by the same team, which significantly increases the quality of care.

The formation of clinic clusters in the region aims to further develop the performance of the clinics together. In addition to strengthening medical staff, alternative employment opportunities for the employees of the Helios Clinic Oberwald in Grebenhain are also being used because the company is hired there.

Through these comprehensive changes, the Helios clinics hope to significantly improve vascular surgery in East Hesse and to do justice to the needs of the patients even better. The measures are in line with the requirements and developments within the modern vascular surgical supply structures in Germany, which are also discussed in the current specialist literature, as can be found in publications on vascular surgical care and hospital reform, as can be found A current study
