Carnival in Luisenthal: Thousands of celebrations in the hustle and bustle!

On March 3, 2025, the carnival society celebrated "Mir Sin Do 1890 e.V." A colorful festival in Burbach that delighted with music, confetti and a happy atmosphere. The participants loudly sang the popular song "Alleh Hopp!" As a huge "ship" of the organizer rocked through the streets. Under a bright blue sky and in the sunshine, people on the streets cheerfully demanded “camels”, popcorn and lollipop, while they ran around in the flickering chaos between bright colors and dancing figures. The hustle and bustle was accompanied by an additional reputation: "Zicke! Zicke! Hoi Hoi!" Class = "Source_1">

The carnival is a central cultural event in Germany, which is characterized by a variety of traditions. While regions such as Rhineland, Swabia and Hesse have been celebrated in Catholic, the carnival has only gained popularity in Protestant areas in the past 30 years. These celebrations, which have their roots in antique festivities in honor of Dionysos and Saturnus, contain elements of the exuberant celebration, ridicule about powerful and the cancellation of social class differences. The festivities are often accompanied by handmade costumes and traditional wooden masks that are passed on from generation to generation.

changes and developments in the MSD

Sascha Eckert recently became the new president of the "Mir Sin do 1890 e.V." appointed. During his tenure, he would particularly like to take care of the modernization of the club uniforms because the old ones are no longer portable. An investment in the five -digit range is intended for the new uniforms of the juniors and the active guard. The youth guard will be equipped with fresh outfits after the upcoming session.

A new motto for the ongoing session 2024/2025 reads: "One for everyone, all for the MSD." The design of this year's order also allows various interpretations and reflects the diversity within the association. The order represents both the Elferrat and a Guard dancer, which symbolizes the connection between tradition and contemporary carnival.
