Huskies rely on strong goalkeeper duo for the new season!
On April 29, 2025, the Kassel Huskies announced that they will rely on the proven goalkeeper duo Brandon Maxwell and Philipp Maurer in the coming season. The 34-year-old Maxwell, who came to the Huskies from Malmö (Sweden) in 2023, became the backing of his team in the past season with 21 wins and a catch rate of 92.3 percent. In 33 missions, however, he had to pause in February 2025 for a cruciate ligament tear and has been injured since then. Maxwell reported that after his operation he feels better and plans to return to the ice in August to continue his career at the huskies.
Philipp Maurer, the 24 -year -old goalie from Landshut, goes into his fourth season at the huskies. He played 23 games last season, and he missed the 2022/23 season due to injury. Maurer convinced as a reliable backing, especially in the playoffs, where he shone with a catch rate of 93.1 percent. Sports director Daniel Kreutzer praised the progress that both goalkeepers made under the training of Sinisa Martinovic. Head coach Jari Pasanen emphasizes Tiffels' intelligence and its importance for the team structure. This continuity could be crucial for the performance of the Starbulls, which are currently in 7th place in the DEL2.
