On April 1, 2025,

Kassel celebrated an indoor electric festival for the first time in over a decade. In the exhibition hall on Damaschkestrasse, more than 4,000 visitors came to experience the return of the popular Amen-Festivals . Organizer Christian Minke, an experienced club operator, started with this event to the tradition of the Kassel club scene, which has changed in recent years, but still maintains a strong passion for electronic music.

The festival started on Saturday evening and ended on Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. Long queues at the cloakroom at 1 a.m. and positive feedback from guests who could finally celebrate again after the pandemic shaped the mood. Older visitors in particular remembered nostalgically of former Kassel clubs such as Stammheim and A.R.M.

a versatile music program

The Amen Festival included three different floors that offered a wide range of electronic music. The Main Floor was the heart of the festival, where DJ legend Sven Väth as headliner captivated the audience with his music. Väth, who was born on October 26, 1964 in Offenbach am Main, is not only the founder of the famous Label Cocoon Recordings, but is also considered a veteran of the international techno scene. Artists such as carrot, Matthias Tanzmann and Zoka also performed on the Main Floor.

  • Main Floor: Sven Väth, Korotte, Matthias Tanzmann, I am Wolv, Maurizio Schmitz, Nicola Septem, Zoka.
  • Hard Techno Floor: carv, Holy Priest, Jazzy, B2, Deguzman, Josh Yob, Sandra Romina, Tanja Miju.
  • Graf-Karl-Floor: Construction group 90, Überkikz, Emilio Albert, JVN, Kurdish Delight, Lennart Grove, Nicola Menth.

The Messe Kassel provided the necessary infrastructure for the event and offered space for the large amount of spectators. The strong sound and lighting technology of the Main Floor reminded many guests of the Berlin Berghain and ensured an incomparable experience.

look into the future

The Amen Festival is expected to become an integral part of the event landscape. Minke is already planning the next festival for March 28, 2026 and shows that Kassel has the potential to establish itself as an important location for electronic music. In addition to the Amen Festival, the Solå Festival, which is held annually in August, also takes place, which is already a significant attraction for fans of electronic sounds.

Overall, the event was a successful start for the Amen Festival and a sign that the passion for electronic music in Kassel is still strong. The enthusiasm of the visitors and the atmosphere give hope that the festival will find many followers in the future and can develop into a new Mecca for techno fans.
