Bruchköbel invests in more all -day care for students!
In the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, decisive steps were taken to significantly improve all-day care for primary school children. In particular at the Haingarten School in Bruchköbel, the number of childcare places available will be increased from the coming school year. This measure was necessary because a waiting list of almost 50 names has formed, which is now to be significantly reduced. School head Jannik Marquart and Mayor Sylvia Braun have found short -term solutions in discussions that benefit from working families in particular.
The adjacent daycare center south wind is used in this process to provide rooms for lunch and homework supervision. The Main-Kinzig-Kreis also plans to expand the cafeteria at the Haingarten School, which is supported this year with a budget of 1.5 million euros. This construction project is about to be specified and will continue to cover the need for care.
Legal claim to all -day care
An essential background of this effort is the upcoming legal claim to all -day care for primary school children, which will come into force in 2026. The agreement in the Bundestag and Federal Council's mediation committee marks an important progress. From the school year 2026/27, all primary school children in Germany are entitled to all -day care, which also means increasing the need for corresponding places. According to a compromise proposal of the Federal Council, the legal entitlement is gradually introduced and applies to all five working days for eight hours, including the holiday season.
The legal claim stipulates that every child who will be schooled in 2026 is entitled to an all -day place in the first four school years. Missing care offers that arise after the daycare period are to be closed. These legal regulations are anchored in the eighth Social Code (SGB VIII). "The all -day claim is an important course for educational justice and for the compatibility of family and work," said Federal Minister of Justice Christine Lambrecht.
Financial support from the BUND
In order to meet the required expansion and operating costs, the federal government plans to provide up to 3.5 billion euros for the expansion of all-day care. This also includes 750 million euros that have been available since the end of 2020. From 2026, a gradual support for operating costs will be provided, which is due to grow up to 1.3 billion euros per year from 2030. With regard to the financing, the federal states have called for the federal government to participate more in the investment costs.
The upcoming investments should not only improve the framework conditions for childcare, but also help to boost the economy and to manage the challenges caused by the Corona crisis. Studies show that high -quality support offers can increase mothers' work by two to six percentage points, which underlines the relevance of these measures.
In the Main-Kinzig-Kreis, the cooperation between the city of Bruchköbel and the district not only found a short-term solution, but also laid the basis in order to meet the increasing need for childcare places, which will increase by the new legal claim in the coming year. All responsible persons strive to promote the compatibility of family and work and at the same time make a contribution to educational justice.
