New construction of the Krebsbach Bridge: full closure and diversion from April 2025!
The new construction of the Krebsbach Bridge in Marköbel is imminent and begins on April 28, 2025. This measure is necessary because the bridge built in 1938 no longer meets today's traffic requirements. The existing maintenance work was unable to improve the condition of the bridge, and exams have to reveal additional damage. In view of these circumstances, the renovation or reinforcement was considered uneconomical. Therefore, the existing bridge is demolished before the new building can begin. The entire construction period is estimated to be around seven months until November 2025.
The L3009 is fully blocked during the construction work. Comprehensive ancillary work is necessary, including the backup and possibly the relocation of supply lines to ensure a unhindered drainage of the cancer. Deadover routes are already planned so that traffic can be redirected smoothly. The detour for road users will lead from Marköbel to Langen-Bermelhausen via Rommelhausen to Ostheim and vice versa to avoid overlaps with other regional detour routes.
investments and transport adjustments
The state of Hesse is investing around 670,000 euros in this project to maintain the transport infrastructure in the western Main-Kinzig district. In addition, separate regulations for bus traffic have been announced to minimize the effects of the construction site on the commuters and residents. The new work not only aims at the construction of the bridge, but also on the comprehensive securing of the infrastructure, which guarantees long -term traffic safety.
