Rodenbach's future: Investments for environmentally friendly living!
On April 27, 2025, a decisive meeting of the municipal council took place in Rodenbach, in which Jan Lukas, the chairman of the Rodenbach Social Democrats, held an urgent budget speech. The central message of his speech was the need for a responsible further development of Rodenbach, in particular with regard to his role as an environmentally friendly residential community with a solid infrastructure. Lukas emphasized that necessary investments in the infrastructure should not be postponed and that it is important not to restrict basic services or to introduce tax increases to cover deficits. A deficit in the area of childcare is currently 6.8 million euros, which requires better financing by the country.
In his speech, Lukas emphasized that all savings potential, such as the non-occupation of areas and the closure of the lido, were exhausted. He also noticed that voluntary services from the municipality only make up around 10% of the budget. The planned investments include the construction of a family center with a daycare center, the planning of a central fire station and the creation of a new sports facility as a replacement for the Bulauhalle.important projects and their implementation
The list of planned projects is extensive. These include the core renovation of residential complexes in Alzenauer Straße, the further development of the new building area and road renovations. The expansion of the sewage treatment plant and the renewal of the station are also on the agenda. Some projects have already started, while others have to be brought into time votes. The amendments of SPD, CDU and Bündnis 90/The Greens were accepted, among other things, and the majority of the parliament approved the draft budget for 2025/2026. The administration received thanks for their work to prepare the budget.
The CDU-Group in Rodenbach also supported the double budget for the next two years. After a thorough consideration between the need for budget consolidations and investments in the quality of life of the community, their approval came. Due to the double budget, the CDU promised planning security and scope for the upcoming projects. The implementation of the construction projects, including the new fire station and the replacement of the Bulauhalle, should be efficient. In the case of savings proposals, the focus is also on the citizens' engagement aspect.
The importance of the municipal infrastructure
The importance of a well -functioning infrastructure was also present in the context of the previous discussions. The infrastructure policy represents an essential part of the local public services and includes both technical and social aspects. Investments in the infrastructure are of central importance for the social integration ability of a community. However, many municipalities are faced with investment residues, which were estimated at an estimated 136 billion euros by 2015. This deficit is reinforced by the need for regular entertainment and the friendly use of citizens' concerns.
The continuing challenges require the municipalities to take into account both financial and social dimensions in their plans. The more active integration of citizens in the planning processes is all the more important so that robust and sustainable solutions can be found. The structural substructure of the municipal infrastructure plays a crucial role in social integration and cohesion of the community.
