People's meeting in Veitshöchheim: A festival of tradition and diversity!
On February 16, 2025, around 500 sponsors of the BSW gathered in the festively decorated main francs in Veitshöchheim for the annual splendor meeting, which was organized by the BSW & EWH family. The decoration was prepared for the popular television program "Fastnacht in Franconia" from Bavarian television, which underlined the importance of the event. The Veitshöchheimer Carneval Club (VCC) organized the event, which has been an integral part of the railroaders in Bavaria for over 35 years.
With the motto "55 years of carnival parade 2025", an arc was made from the past. Over 500 guests, including railroaders from various Bavarian locations such as Ansbach, Augsburg, Aschaffenburg, Fürth, Nuremberg, Würzburg, Bamberg, Lichtenfels and Bruchsal, as well as senior groups and DB Fernverkehr were present. Special guests even traveled from the Upper Palatinate, the Main-Kinzig district, Sinntal and meaning. Manuel Seemann took over the greeting as VCC session president.
A look back on the tradition
Margarete Echtler from BSW Nuremberg welcomed all participants in the special performance. Rudi Hepf was particularly recognized for his commitment, which he showed over 35 years ago in the establishment of the splendor meeting. The celebrated evening of honor also culminated with the awarding of the "VCC Carnival Order 2025" to Anton Hofmann. In a colorful program that lasted about five hours and was moderated by Manuel Seemann, numerous performances emerged.
The "Confeddies" contested the opening appearance with two rousing songs. In the further course of the event, the "4 Tanzmariechen", the "Dance Knirpsen" and the handmade speaker Otmar Schraud appeared. The "Red Guard" and "Blue Guard" amazed the audience with their marching dances. Werner "Flocki" Siebentritt seasoned the performances with amusing anecdotes about the pensioner life.
a diverse program for everyone
A guest appearance of a dance marie from Bad Windsheim delighted the spectators as well as Michael Bechold's last speech, which resulted in standing ovation. The "Schlappsäu" and the "Red Guard" contributed to the exuberant mood. The acrobatic performances of the "Tuedance Juniors" from Zellingen, which received numerous applause storms, were particularly impressive. Christoph Maul humorously presented the challenges of a "caretaker", while the second part of the event began with mood songs from the "Musikverein".
The climax was Ines Procter, who appeared as a "cleaning lady", followed by the "Hupfdolen" with an original treasure hunt and the appearance of Laba Babo as "scout". The "men's ballet" ensured further highlights, followed by the "Blue Guard". The celebrations traditionally ended with another appearance of the "Confeddies" and the musical accompaniment by the "Starlight Duo". The guests were enthusiastic and already expressed the wish to return to Veitshöchheim in 2026.
Overall, the ceremonial meeting was a successful festival with a strong sense of community and numerous memories of the past few years, which in this form also had to be experienced again after three years of Corona. The event not only continued the tradition, but also promoted the exchange among the different groups and regions.
