significant tradition and cultural diversity

The Japanese cherry blossom festival, also called Hanami, has a centuries -old tradition that celebrates the beginning of spring. The blossom of the cherry trees, which shows a variety of color nuances from white to baby bail to strong pink, symbolizes beauty, departure and impermanence. In medieval Japan, the transience was considered a heroic ideal, which also shaped the samurai. There are around 300 different variations of cherry trees in Japan, with the Someti-Yoshino cherry being the best known.

Hanami means "flow of flowers" and comprises picnic under cherry blossoms, a custom that has been practiced since the 8th century. In addition, sake is traditionally consumed and Japanese sweets are offered with "Sakura" taste, which, however, do not taste like cherry. Popular Hanami spots in Japan include the Maruyama Park in Kyoto, Ueno Park in Tokyo and the Berg Yoshino in Nara.

insights into the event

In addition to Tanja Ronaghi and Chen Long Chung,

Voices of the fog forests" at 12:45 p.m. Musical appearances are planned throughout the day and ensure a festive supporting program.

The church flowers are not only a sign of spring, but also an attraction for many. The first cherry blossom in Japan will be released in Okinawa at the end of January and the cherry blossom front is pursued meteorologically, which is an important topic in the news. The Cherry Blossom Day in Offenbach could not only become a festival of colors, but also a cultural exchange that makes the many facets of the Japanese tradition tangible.
