Büdingen shines in the shine of the frog parade and happy children's festivals!

On May 5, 2025, the historic city of Büdingen turned into a colorful scene for young and old. The triad of frog parade, gardener market and children's festival attracted numerous visitors. The event, which is part of the "Büdinger Spring Feelings" series, will also take place in the impressive backdrop of the old town this year.

The frog parade started at 11 a.m. and led from Schlosspark through the old town to the children's festival on the Fahrbach and Willi-Zinnkann-Halle. Around 40 train numbers took part, led by a drum band. Prominent faces such as Mayor Benjamin Harris and the Büdinger frog queen Hannah Schäfer were also part of the colorful move. They were accompanied by many children from daycare centers and associations. The performances of “Planet Zukunft”, which appeared in Star Wars costumes, and the tractor friends Hirchenhain, which presented old tractors, caused a lot of sensation.

gardener market and medieval attractions

parallel to the parade took place in a gardener market on which plants, fruit, vegetables and natural products were sold. Traders also offered decorative items. However, the demand was due to the cool weather, which was difficult for the sellers. Organic farms such as Rauhen Berg from Gelnhaar and Querbeet from Reichelsheim introduced themselves. The Büdinger Bauhof also informed the visitors about the care of public systems.

Another highlight was the medieval market, which took place between the Jerusalem Tor and the bulwark. Here dealers offered armor, swords and stylish clothing, while artisans presented amber jewelry.

diverse activities for children

The children's festival belonged to the 25th edition of this popular event. As part of this celebration, children from the region came together to experience skill games, to master a bobby car course or to be active at handicrafts and painting stands. The small participants received a stamp card for every stand visited, which increased the fun and motivation. The fire brigade also offered a fire protection education tailored to children in order to draw attention to dangers and avoid their avoidance.

With a variety of attractions and a consistently positive feedback from the visitors, Büdingen showed that events have a special place in the community for all generations. The combination of tradition and new elements ensured that public life in the old town flourished again that day.
