Büdingen celebrates: New boules brings community to the green!

In the Max-Halberstadt-Park in Büdingen, a new boules area was opened, which is located between Brunostraße and the city school. According to FNP there have been two lanes since the start of the season. The financing of this facility was ensured by a generous donation of 2,500 euros from the local advisory board of the core city. In order to ensure the safety of the players, the railways are equipped with ground -level border made of basaltkin pavement, which minimize stumbling blocks.

The initiative for playing boules in Büdingen began in 2022 and was launched by the volunteer agency to fight loneliness in the community. Since 2023, the boules players meet regularly on Friday afternoon to promote the game and thus strengthen movement and community. When looking for suitable locations, the Max-Halberstadt-Park proved to be ideal. The volunteer agency made the first set of balls available and coordinates the play group.

boules as a social contact

The first boules game after the winter break took place with an invitation to the local mayor and the local advisory board to thank the supporters of the initiative. Before the opening of the new trains, improvised playing fields were played with ropes. The rules of the game are based on the Pétanque boules variant, whereby the points are counted up to 13. The group now has 13 members who are still looking for new players. Boule promotes both serenity and conviviality.

The field of action "Bürgerboule" in the BPV NRW pursues similar goals by focusing on popular sports, especially for older and highly altitous people. Projects such as "Boule im Park" and "Boule in the Quartier" have proven to be successful in order to promote well -known values such as social contacts and exercise outdoors. These initiatives are based on a strategic project called "Perspective 2031", which has been launched since 2022 to develop material and programs.

Inclusion in boulesport

boules is considered a sport that can reduce barriers between people with and without handicaps. According to Planetboule , sport promotes contacts between different social groups and can contribute to improving the quality of life. Special variants of the game are now needed to include people with intellectual disabilities. The vision is that municipalities plan boules places and actively promote the sport.

The working group "Boule for All" is committed to developing a concept for inclusion in boulesport. The aim is to promote the integration of people with handicaps into boulepatoo production. Existing barriers should be reduced with larger groups for wheelchair users and a review of the accessibility of club restaurants.

summarized the boules in the Max-Hhalberstadt-Park not only for a new place of leisure activities, but also as a symbol for community, inclusion and active life in Büdingen.
