Landesgartenschau 2027: Bad Salzhausen is preparing for a large opening!

The preparations for the next state garden show in Hesse have started. On March 18, 2025, the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony took place in the Bad Salzhausen spa park. This event marks the starting signal for the State Garden Show Oberhessen, which will take place from April 22nd to October 3, 2027. Eleven municipalities, including Büdingen, Gedern and Bad Salzhausen, take part in the organization. The state of Hesse provides a total of 3.5 million euros for the event, as reported by the FAZ

The State Garden Show will be an important event in the region that includes the eastern Wetterau and parts of the Vogelsberg. The focus is on three large parks that form the hearts of the show: the Kurpark Bad Salzhausen, the Schlosspark Gedern and the Büdingen city park. Diese Parks sollen durch neue Spielplätze und barrierearme Wege aufgewertet werden. A multifunctional city park is planned in Büdingen in particular, which will accommodate various individual events. The eleven are involved in the show: Büdingen, Gedern, Bad Salzhausen, Glauburg, Echzell, Hirzenhain, Kefenrod, Limeshain, Ortenberg, Ranstadt and Schotten. These cities will not only organize the events, but also benefit from the increase in leisure opportunities and upgrading their infrastructure.

The State Garden Show in Hesse takes place every four years. The last show that took place in Fulda in 2023 was already a great success. The upcoming events, such as the Federal Garden Show 2029 in the Upper Mittelrheintal, show the continuous interest and the investments in garden culture and local resolution in Germany.
