New kindergarten Schatzkiste: City plans impressive new building!

The kindergarten "Schatzkiste" in Griedel celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and faces a fundamental renewal. In order to take the need for a new building into account, plans for the project were recently presented in the Butzbacher Social Committee. The cost -estimated amount for the new building is 5.2 million euros, although property costs are not included. From parliament, the SPD's request to rethink the construction and check alternatives, a majority.

In the debate about the plans, the CDU faction initially showed interest in discussing the application in the specialist committee. However, this was supported by the SPD, the Greens and the FDP, which voted for a direct commissioning of the magistrate. In the meantime, the CDU called for a thorough inventory of the need for care in the city.

Details on the new building

The new building is to be built on the site of the previous container kindergarten and offer a usable area of ​​around 1160 square meters. Four group rooms, a field of movement as well as sleeping and social spaces- supplemented by a “parent café” are planned. The foyer will be particularly striking with a slide and a lift. Compared to the new "World Decker" daycare center in the core city, the usable area is 150 square meters larger.

In addition, the SPD modular or system construction as well as finished parts will bring into play in order to reduce costs. Larissa Winter from the CDU emphasized that an on -site appointment was necessary to clarify the condition of the current daycare center. Both Andreas Bösch (SPD) and Oliver Löhr (FDP) emphasized the importance of discussions in the local advisory board. Benjamin Seliger (CDU) addressed the future demand for childcare places.

At the same time, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new municipal daycare center "Lustgarten" took place in Butzbach, which is estimated with project costs of around 4.3 million euros. The special feature of this daycare center is the wooden frame construction that uses sustainable materials. The completion is planned until the middle of next year, in the second quarter of 2024. The existing “colorful” daycare center from Griedel will be housed in the new building.

The daycare center will consist of four groups: two groups for children under three years with 12 places each and two groups for kindergarten children from the age of three with 25 places each. The new facility will have two floors and is barrier -free, including an elevator. With a plot size of almost 2400 square meters and a usable area of ​​1000 square meters, an approximately 120 square meter roof terrace is also created. The heat supply is carried out by a combined heat and power plant that is planned in conjunction with the neighboring kindergarten Villa Regenbogen. The parking spaces and access are spacious to take into account the needs of bringing and picking up the children.
