The other candidates, Christa Degkwitz of the Greens and Thomas Hoppe (independent), remained behind the two top candidates. The turnout in Echzell was 62.2 percent.

The withdrawal of the incumbent

It is worth noting that the non -party mayor Wilfried Mogk did not start again. This withdrawal took place after a citizens' decision for a new “future park” was not found last September.
