Sports community Bindsachsen illuminates the future with LED technology!

The Bindsachsen sports community 1921 converted its floodlight system to modern LED technology. This decisive measure was made possible by the financial support of numerous donors and public funding providers. The symbolic donation of a crowdfunding project by VR Bank Main-Kinzig-Büdingen took place on the sports grounds of SG Bindsachsen.

The metal steam lamp used previously had high maintenance costs, inadequate the sports field and had high power consumption. With the new LED lighting, SG Bindsachsen not only benefits from significant energy savings, but also from an extended lifespan of the lamps. Modern LED technology enables energy saving of up to 80 percent compared to the old metal steam lamps.

The conversion will go to both the environment and the youth teams of the JSG Kefenrod and the senior teams of SG Wolferborn/Michelau/Bindsachsen. The installation work was carried out by Lumosa GmbH, a market leader in Europe for LED floodlight technology. Project financing was supported by various funding providers, including the municipality of Kefenrod, the State Sports Association, the State of Hesse and the BUND by the national climate protection initiative of the Federal Environment Ministry.

Around 50 donors took part in the crowdfunding campaign, which ran from June 25th to September 23, 2024. When the donation was handed over, Mark Langlitz from VR Bank presented a symbolic check for 13,020 euros. Langlitz also emphasized the importance of community and commitment to the project. Thanks go to all supporters of crowdfunding, which promotes regional projects and strengthens the community.

The official inauguration of the new floodlight system is planned for the coming spring in an evening game.
