Crime wave in Wiesbaden: Police are looking for witnesses for burglaries!

The police in Wiesbaden have worked on a variety of criminal incidents in the past few days. This includes assault, burglaries and theft. So there was an argument in Mainz-Kostheim, in which a 50-year-old man obtained a profit amount of 2,000 euros on an illegal slot machine. A dispute with the operator escalated, which led to the man to push to the ground and beat. The police describe the perpetrator as about 1.60 to 1.70 meters tall, strong and with short blond hair and beard. The police accept information on the telephone number (0611) 345-2240, as BYC News

Another incident concerns a break -in into a multi -party house on Wallufer Platz. Between the 22nd and 24th April, strangers penetrated the basement and opened a metal cabinet from which a drill and a leaf blower were stolen. The investigators also ask for information on (0611) 345-2440.

Investigations into the slump in school and scooter theft

A worrying slump occurred during the Easter holidays in a school in Wiesbaden-Klarenthal. Several school animals were killed. The police identified a child as a suspected perpetrator and the investigation is continued in cooperation with the House of Youth Law.

Furthermore, a 29-year-old man was checked at the station place with an e-scooter. During the review, the police found contradictory information and manipulated license plates. The e-scooter and the license plates have been secured and an investigation was initiated for theft, stealing and license plate abuse.

unauthorized gambling exposed

Another important police commitment took place in a café on Lorraine Strasse. The officials uncovered unauthorized gambling, in which 75,000 euros of cash were confiscated. During a check, 13 people were found who were involved in an illegal dice game. A one -hand knife also had a one -handed man. After the check, all suspects were released on site, but criminal proceedings were initiated and the investigation continued.

These incidents are in the context of increasing number of crime numbers in Germany. According to the police crime statistics (PKS) in 2023, the crimes recorded rose by 5.5 % compared to the previous year. The police have recorded the highest number of cases since 2016, which is attributed to increased mobility after the covid 19 restrictions, economic burdens from inflation and a high immigration rate in Germany, such as BKA reported.

The clearance rate in 2023 was 58.4 %. The increase in violent crime and theft offenses, which increases by 8.6 % or 10.7 %, is particularly worrying. These figures make it clear how intensively the police in Wiesbaden and other cities are required to ensure the security of citizens.
