Full closures and diversions: Wiesbaden in construction site chaos!
In the coming weeks,in Wiesbaden will have several important road closures that will affect both vehicle and local public transport. According to information from Merkurist above all the Gneisenustraße and Carl-von-Linde-Straße become the construction site. The work is expected to last until May and affect numerous bus lines.
The Gneisenustraße will be completely closed from Monday, April 7th, until April 17th. All affected bus lines, including lines 14, X76, 275, N4 and school buses, are forced to take reductions. In the direction of Klarenthal, the detour from the “Bismarckring” stop leads via Dotzheimer Straße and Klarenthaler Straße to the replacement stop “Gneisenaustraße”. The “Elsäser Platz” stop is no longer served. The Carl-von-Linde-Straße will be completely closed from Saturday, April 5, until May 8th. This block also affects bus lines 4, 14, 17, N4, N5 and school buses. In the direction of the city center, lines 4 and N5 are diverted to the replacement stop "Am Hang" on Schönbergstrasse after the "Helmholtzstraße" stop. For lines 14 and 17, the detour to Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße applies before returning to the same replacement stop "Am Hang". The N4 night bus line will drive to the “Flachstrasse” stop and divide from there via Schönbergstrasse to the replacement stop “Am Hang”. In the direction of Kohlheck, Klarenthal and Schierstein, the regular route for lines 4, 14, 17 and N5 will exist.
In addition, it is reported that a full closure on Nordstadter Strasse will lead from Monday, September 30th. This measure will come into force from around 8 a.m. and includes diversions for bus line 37 as well as for school buses, emergency vehicles and call-collecting taxis. The detour towards Igstadt leads via Wallauer Weg, Holzweg, Breckenheimer Straße and Susannastraße, which means that the “Friedhofstraße” and “Weingartenstraße” stops are no longer controlled.
